Nuevo motor Turbo de 1.5 litros
Pin It

Produced in various guises around the world since 2001, the 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder is part of the "L-Series" family of engines, and in 2022.

It makes its debut in the all-new 2023 Acura Integra, creating the first turbocharged Integra of fabric.

The new Integra, a high-performance 5-door liftback, marks the return of the iconic name to the Acura lineup and continues the tradition of unmatched performance, to become the Japanese luxury brand's newest gateway. To generate 200 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque, the new Acura Integra is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged direct injection 16-valve DOHC VTEC® engine.

inside the engine
To minimize weight, the engine block is made from cast aluminum and uses reinforced main bearing caps for added strength. The cylinder liners are made of cast steel, which gives them great durability.

Its lightweight pistons use "cavity" shaped heads to achieve a high-turbulent intake charge that improves fuel efficiency. The carefully optimized piston skirt is designed to minimize reciprocating weight, reducing vibration and increasing operating efficiency.

DOHC Head and Timing System
The lightweight DOHC cylinder head is made from a die-cast aluminum alloy with an exhaust system cast directly to the cylinder head.

Variable Timing Control™ (VTC™) varies the phase of both the intake and exhaust camshafts independently, optimizing their timing to respond to driving conditions. When the engine speed is low and the load is heavy, the amount of overlap is increased to enhance the scavenging effect, which improves torque and responsiveness. When engine speed and load are high, valve overlap is reduced to increase power by improving intake and scavenging.

The 1.5 Turbo engine features the Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC®) system. Working in conjunction with the VTC™ system, VTEC® modifies the lift, timing and duration of valve opening.

Turbo system
For maximum responsiveness, the engine uses a reduced diameter MHI TD03 turbo with an 11-blade turbine. The single-scroll housing design helps the turbo to supercharge even at small throttle openings and at low engine speeds.

To power it, the new Acura Integra uses the latest version (L15CA) of the 1.5-liter Turbo engine that has received multiple upgrades, including the addition of VTEC® variable valve lift technology on the exhaust cam, and which collectively they have increased its maximum power over a wider rev range and improved its fuel efficiency, emissions and handling.

VTEC® technology improves exhaust efficiency and optimizes valve overlap to improve performance throughout the rev range, working in conjunction with VTC™ to allow better scavenging.

The result is an output of 200 hp and significant performance improvements compared to previous versions of this engine. The engine retains more power between its 6,000-rpm peak and its 6,600-rpm limit, and peak torque of 192 lb-ft comes in at 1,800 rpm—that's 300 rpm sooner—for quicker starts and smoother output. fast around sharp curves.
